It was given to J.C. Trembley, a soldier with the 1st Vermont Volunteer Infantry, 3rd Brigade, 1st Division, 3rd Corps, Company M (out of Burlington, VT).
Excerpt from page 134 of the book "Vermont in the Spanish American War" published in 1929. I believe they spelled his name wrong in the book, as another medal I am selling has his name spelled correctly.
