This listing is for a rare Genuine Iraqi Fedayeen "Darth Vader" Helmet. It was brought back in 2003 by a US Marine from 4th Civil Affairs Group stationed in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. This is the rarest and most collectible Iraqi military helmet. Saddam created his Fedayeen paramilitary force in 1995. His sone Uday was in charge of this force, and was a huge Star Wars fan, so had the helmets designed to look like Darth Vader's. The helmet is in "battle-scarred" condition with general wear as shown. It still has the rubber badge on the side with Saddam's profile and the motto "The Lord, The Homeland, The Leader". The inner headband and straps are also all present. There are no numbers or marks on the inside of the helmet. Please see the detailed photos below and contact us with any questions before bidding. We will sell this to the highest bidder, so don't miss your chance to win!
Fedayeen Saddam was a paramilitary organization loyal to the Ba'athist government of Saddam Hussein. The name was chosen to mean "Saddam's Men of Sacrifice". At its height, the group had 30,000–40,000 members.
4th Civil Affairs Group (4th CAG) deployed to Iraq three times for Operation Iraqi Freedom: (1) February to September 2003, (2) August 2004 to March 2005 and (3) September 2006 to April 2007.
4th CAG was the first civil affairs group in the Marine Corps and mostly supports II MEF. The II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF) is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force consisting of ground, air and logistics forces capable of projecting offensive combat power ashore while sustaining itself in combat without external assistance for a period of 60 days.
