This listing is for a rare antique Seth Thomas Green Adamantine Mantle Clock with ornate face and lion head handles. Adamantine is a faux-marble celluloid veneer glued to a wood base. The clock has a Seth Thomas number 3 5/8 "hip" movement that was used on these clocks until 1900. The back has a paper label with an 1880 patent date. The clock winds smoothly and runs for a minute or so before stopping, so will need some tinkering. It chimes on the hour and half hour when turning the hands manually. The clock measures about 12" x 12" x 7" inches. It's is in good cosmetic condition with some minor scratches, a few dings on the back top edge, and a painted repair above the face. It is missing three of the small screws that hold the face in place. Please see the detailed photos below and contact us with any questions before bidding.
