This listing is for a vintage Chelsea "Boston Shipstrike" ship's clock and barometer with wooden base/stand and key. We believe the clock is a "ship's bell" clock and we believe the base is mahogany. This set was presented to our client to commemorate his induction into the IBM Quarter Century Club in 1992. The clock and barometer appear to work as they should. We wound the clock and it started ticking. A few minutes later, the bell chimed several times. The set is in very good condition overall with some light wear from storage. The original sticker on the back is still mostly intact but one of the soft felt feet on the bottom has rubbed off. Please see the photos below to see everything that is included, and contact us with any questions before bidding. We have a low opening bid and no reserve price so don't miss your chance to win!
Approximate measurements: 14" long; 3.5" deep; 6-3/4" tall; Dials: 5-1/2" diameter
"Down through the years IBM's Quarter Century Club has honored employees who have attained 25 years of service with the company. The very first gathering of the Quarter Century Club took place on June 21, 1924 in Atlantic City, N.J. Some 42 IBMers joined the Club as charter members that day, including 15 men with 30 or more years in IBM and its predecessor companies. First in seniority was Otto E. Braitmayer, with 35 years of service, who had been vice president of the Tabulating Machine Company."
