"...Walter Corey came to Portland in 1836, bought out the cabinetmaker Nathaniel Ellsworth, and opened a cabinet warehouse. Corey was able to produce work of good quality and able to cut the purchase price of his product using labor-saving machines. Corey's company became a showroom when Corey died of heart disease and was finally dissolved in 1941, after 105 years of service."
