This listing is for a pair of antique Patent Washable dolls. They came in as part of a large doll collection, and the following information was provided by the seller. They're German composition with straw stuffed bodies and original clothes, mohair wigs, and blown glass eyes. One doll is about 12", and the other is about 14". The taller doll has replacement arms. They were both made around 1870 to 1880. They were appraised in 1990 at a price of $55 and $60, respectively, by professional doll appraiser Elizabeth F. Mooney. The dolls have scuffs and wear from use including around their eyes, noses, and mouths. Their outfits show some discoloration and wear, and the taller doll's right leg has some damage.
