This listing is for a set of 2 wonderful Isaac Cruikshank hand colored engravings. One it titled 'The Exciseman and the Countryman', and the other is titled 'Unlawful Union'. Based on our research, the Exciseman cartoon was published in London by T. Tegg in 1808 and the Unlawful Union was published in London by T. Tegg in 1807. We have seen some listings online where these are credited to George Cruikshank, but we believe they were done by Isaac. Both pieces are matted and framed, although the glass is missing from the Exciseman frame. The engravings themselves measure 13" x 9" and the Exciseman frame measures 20" x 16". The Unlawful Union frame measures 18" x 14". The engravings are in excellent condition while there are some scuffs on the frames. The Exciseman matting has some discoloration. We have a low opening bid price, so don't miss your chance to win!
